Aims
This course will enable staff to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for having the confidence to achieve a successful outcome if a conflict situation occurs.

- Components of communication (Verbal/non verbal %)
- Violence precursors and indicators
- Common Offender Behaviour
- Proxemics – Intimate, personal and public zones
- Impact factors – Person, place and object
- Use of force legislation and self defence
- Communication/defusing models (LEAPS, Betaris Box, Five step Appeal)
- Non-aggressive postures
- Distance –action v reaction.
- Physical/improvised barriers– desk, chair etc
- Escape routes, layout of room etc
- Reflection and reporting
Course duration: 2 days
In-house cost: £800.00 – £1200.00 Per day + Travelling Costs at 0.53 pence per mile + Accommodation and Meals where an overnight stay is required.
