Over the last year it has become more apparent that we have gaps in our skills base with regards to Physical Intervention and we would need to adapt our training to accommodate this function, this would also bring us in line with what is happening within the industry and the SIA’s future training plans.

I was given the details for ml ferris associates from a colleague who had used them before. Having made contact with the Company MD (Mike Ferris) to arrange a meeting I can say that the initial discussions were very polite and informative. Mike then took the time to look in to our operation to best understand the way in which we will implement any training given by him which to be honest was first class. I have had many quotes for this training and just from what I had said down the phone. Due to the nature of the site he was training on, the course needed to take into account the different levels of peoples abilities and what role they carried out within the site.

When it came to the training it was to the point and broken down well in easy understandable stages, not something that can be said of today’s training normally with a lot of death by power point. The techniques taught were easy to understand and apply, with an explanation and demonstration on each before trying ourselves. The proof that these techniques would work was demonstrated well as Mikes partner (Leigh) also an instructor for the company showed how to use these restraints despite the fact that she is of a smaller stature than most on the course.
